Pere Arcas

Pere Arcas (Barcelona, 1964) is Head of the department of learning programs & projects at Television of Catalonia (Spain). He received a Bachelor degree of Communication Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a degree in theater directing from the Theatre Institute of Barcelona.

After living a few years alternating direction with teaching drama, he began his journalism career as a theater critic for Radio 4 (National Radio of Spain). In 1991 he joined Televisió de Catalunya (TVC), where he has worked in all genres (news, documentaries, magazines, contests, drama, sports, etc.) as a writer, editor, director or producer. In 1998 he was part of the Ondas Prize awarded team for Sick people of Television to the most innovative television programme.

In Internet highlights the web version of Draw me a story, which was awarded in 2008 as the best international product in the international educational television summit BAKAFORUM. Draw me a story was also finalist in Japan Prize and Prix Europe awards.

He is currently the head of the department of learning projects at TVC, creating content for all technological platforms of communication. He is also responsible for the management of a laboratory of ideas for the creation of specific resources for schools based on broadcast TVC productions. He complements his professional activity with teaching at several universities as a professor of Educational Television and Analysis of Television Genres.
