Pete Fraser

Pete Fraser is working on a doctoral project in the Centre for Excellence in Media Practice at Bournemouth University. His work involves looking at how Web 2.0 tools are impacting upon learning in the UK media classroom. Pete is co-editor with Jon Wardle of the Manifesto for Media Education project at http://www.manifestoformediaeducation.co.uk, which he will be speaking about at the conference.
Pete spent many years as Head of Media Studies at Long Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge running one of the largest media departments in the country, before joining CEMP as a doctoral researcher in 2010. His focus is the philosophy of media education, particularly in relation to how Web 2.0 is being used in teaching and learning. Pete is Chief Examiner for the OCR Media Studies A level and regularly speaks at conferences for both students and teachers. He has contributed to a number of publications and is the author of two books for the BFI on digital video production and music video. He blogs regularly for Media Magazine and for OCR teachers and tweets as @petesmediablog. He is chair of the Media Education Association and a course tutor on MA Creative & Media Education.
