Karel Van Isacker

Mr. Karel Van Isacker possesses an MBA and a Diploma in Applied Economic Sciences with specialisation in International Management from the University Faculties Saint Ignatius Antwerp. He has been heavily involved in (accessible) e-learning activities through a range of projects (SLIM-VRT, EURIDICE, EU4LL, MOTRASUP, etc.) and has extensive experience with Open Source e-learning platforms. Since 2005, he has been acting mainly as project manager for a large number of projects aiming at supporting people with disabilities, as well as elderly, making extensive usage of novel educational practices such as edu gaming, both on desktop and on mobile devices (see recent work in ViPi, ATLEC, eMentoring projects). Focus was in many of them on collecting user requirements, providing training sessions for end-users, both through e-learning as well as face-to-face, organising local pilots (Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece). He is also providing consultancy on disability aspects (accessible ICT, mentoring) to a variety of organizations, and is an experienced external evaluator for LLL projects.
