In my work for Kennisnet I explore a variety of educational technology themes. Kennisnet is the public educational organisation which supports and inspires Dutch primary, secondary and vocational institutions in the effective use of ict. Kennisnet ensures that educational institutions are aware and take advantage of the opportunities offered by ICT.

As an education-technology specialist I create ‘knowledge products’, i.e. research analyses, papers and presentations, which are published on our website. Currently I’m working on several themes: Flipping the Classroom, Mobile Devices, Student Feedback and Participation.

But one of the most important projects is about the professional development of teachers. We’ve created a national framework in which IT-skills are positioned relative to the professional tasks of a teacher. In collaboration with all Dutch key-players in the domain of professional development for teachers and HR-specialists we now have a framework for school leaders to use for the implementation of IT-skills in their HR-policy. Furthermore, our framework is based on T-PACK model (Mishra and Koehler).
