Martina Chapman

Martina has worked in media and communications for almost twenty years and for the last five years has specialised in media literacy strategy and policy development. 

As the BBC’s Editor for Media Literacy, Martina is working with the Executive Producer for Media Literacy to develop and deliver a pan-BBC media literacy strategy in line with the BBC’s sixth Public Purpose. Martina represents the BBC on the Executive Management Group of Go-ON UK.

Previously, as Policy Executive for Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator, she was the principal author of two national reports on behalf of the UK Government, industry and the voluntary sector: the Digital Britain Media Literacy Working Group Report and the National Plan for Digital Participation. She also contributed to working groups such as the UK Council for Child Internet Safety, the EU Media Literacy Expert Working Group, the Media Literacy Task Force and the Get Safe Online Steering Committee.

Martina is also an experienced multi-platform content producer with extensive knowledge of social action campaign development and delivery.
