Renee Hobbs

Renee Hobbs is an internationally recognized authority on digital and media literacy education. She is Professor and Founding Director of the Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island, USA. As the Founder of the Media Education Lab she develops programs that advance media literacy education through scholarship and community service. She has authored five books and dozens of scholarly and professional articles, created award-winning multimedia curriculum resources, and offered professional development programs for educators and media professionals on four continents. She received an Ed.D from Harvard Graduate School of Education and an M.A. and B.A. from the University of Michigan in Communication Studies, English Literature and Film/Video Studies.
