Alessandro Mantelero

Alessandro Mantelero is full-tenured Aggregate Professor of Private Law at the Politecnico di Torino, Director of Privacy and Faculty Fellow at the Nexa Center for Internet and Society. He has published more than 60 articles on peer-reviewed journals, three books and contributions in other books (publications).
He was Visiting Researcher at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University (2012) and Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute at the University of Oxford (2013).
Prof. Mantelero is involved in different national and international research programs. He was co-director of Cloud Computing Governance Initiative (Berkman Center at Harvard University, Nexa Center at Politecnico di Torino, Keio University, University of St. Gallen) at the Nexa Center.
He is Project Member at the Network of Excellence in Internet Science and task leader of the deliverable D5.1.2 on “Internet Privacy, Identity, Trust and Reputation Mechanisms”.
Prof. Mantelero has been involved in different private initiatives and research groups. He was member of the Digital Advisory Group at the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy (2011 – 2012). He is member of the “Task Force: Control of identity” at the Identity Talk in The Tower project (Giesecke & Devrient).
Prof. Mantelero is currently focusing his studies on data protection, ISP liability, legal implications of cloud computing and Big Data, e-government, e-democracy, public sector information.
