Charlie Davis

As a Learning Technologist, Charlie Davis supports tutors as they consider how technologies might be used in learning, teaching and assessment contexts they are familiar with. Prior to taking up his post as a Learning Technologist at the University of Derby in July 2009, he taught English to speakers of other languages for eight years in Spain, Ireland and England. It was during his time as a teacher that he started exploring how multimedia resources and multimodal approaches to learning could be used to support learning, teaching and assessment activities in a range of contexts.

Building on these experiences, he is currently carrying out Doctoral research into how digital storytelling approaches can be used to provide primary school teachers with opportunities to consider perceptions they have of who they were, are and would like to be as teachers.
