Xanthippi Tokmakidou

Xanthippi Tokmakidou holds a position as communication officer at the Hellenic Managing Authority for the Operational Program “Education and Lifelong Learning”, implementing communication strategies for the ESF co-funded projects (e.g. promoting access to good quality of education as well as promoting social inclusion, improving the systems of initial vocational training and vocational education and facilitating the transition from education to the labor market, enhancing equal access to lifelong learning of all ages, Strengthening human capital for the promotion of research and innovation)

Within her competencies she represents the Hellenic Ministry of Education holding a member position on the management team of the European Program “MEDEAnet” which promotes media based learning. She was holding the same position as member of the project management team, and also an executive coordinator role over one of the sub-implementation teams, for the European Program “Edutubeplus” which targeted on building a curriculum related video library and e-service provider for the pedagogical exploitation of videos in class.

Until 2011 she was working at the Directorate of the the Educational Radiotelevision of the Hellenic Ministry of Education contributing on raising visibility and promoting the Educational Television as a key tool for the audiovisual content to be exploited in schools / academic classes etc.

She holds a diploma on German Language and Literature from the Philosophy School of AUTH / Hellas, two diplomas on Montessori Pedagogic Method and Special Education from the LMU/ Germany, an MBA on Strategic Management from the University of Strathclyde / U.K. and she is a PHD candidate at the University of Macedonia / Hellas, department of Music Science and Art, regarding the music influence in foreign language acquisition in pre-school and early primary education.

Before joining the public sector she has worked for more than ten years in prívate- mostly telecommunication- companies at communication marketing and product marketing departments and as an HR educational manager.

She has publications in scientific conferences. She speaks fluently English and German and French very well. She holds a diploma in Piano and participated in numerous recitals in Hellas and abroad and recordings for the Greek State Radio and Public Television.
