Canal Educatif (“on demand educational channel”) is a collaborative web platform which offers a series of free and innovative educational videos connected to the high school level curriculum. Targeted at teachers, students and families, it is intended for after-school work by students, for use during class time and to foster discussion between different generations.

In French: "Canal Educatif est un project collaboratif visant à constituer le premier patrimoine de vidéos éducatives pour les jeunes et leurs parents à domicile. Enseignants, étudiant ou expert vous pouvez y participer et jouer les passeurs de culture."

He states that he founded Canal Educatif, in order to dramatically improve the access of students to culture through web 2.0 technologies.

Video Nation is based on the social research organisation Mass Observation, set up in 1937. Their aim was to create an "anthropology of ourselves" by studying the everyday lives of ordinary people in Britain. They did this by recruiting a team of observers and a panel of volunteer writers. Video Nation enable everybody to produce a short video for the web. Video Nation edits the content but hands over control and the final publishing decision to the creator. Video Nation has local production teams who provide all the training and advice contributors need to film successfully. The site also looks for particular subjects or aspects of life and invites contribution from its users.

With a slogan as "EduTube Educational Videos - find the best videos on the web in one place" EduTube focuses on educational videos, which are linked from other video repository sites such as YouTube, MetaCafe, … so this web site is actually a collection of linked and embedded educational videos. Uploading to this site isn't possible, which is a difference with sites such as YouTube.

This is a collection of hundreds of free videos from National Geographic, featuring animal videos, news videos, weather videos, nature videos, kids videos, world music videos and other most popular video content including shark videos.

TILT (Teaching Intermedia Literacy Tools) works within schools and community-based programs to teach young people the fundamentals of moviemaking and media literacy through hands-on training in video production. Programs equip young people with the tools to critically understand media messages and to create their own alternative media. Through a combination of technical training and hands-on experience we give students the means to gain a meaningful voice in media and to tell their own stories.

Video Active presents a vast collection of television programmes and stills from audiovisual archives across Europe. It also provides articles and comparative analysis on European TV history. Video Active makes available resources to explore the development of television in Europe, but also the televising of cultural and historical events within and across nations.

Learning & Teaching offers teachers and other educators a free-of-charge resource pool of educational materials and methodological ideas. This website provides web seminars on themes in the field of historical and civic education, presented by experts from both academic and practical teaching contexts. As a registered user, you can take part in web seminars in real time and ask your own questions. Members can also share their own materials.
