Coping with the crisis, realistic guidelines for privacy, facilitating DIY video production and re-purposing facilities – just some of the topics we will be talking about on 18 November as part of Scaling up video-based services in Higher Education – Media & Learning Online. We will be hearing from Michael Wesch, Kansas State University, Olga Lucia Forlani & Silvano Pasquali, Verona University, Italy, Sean P. Willems, University of Tennessee, USA and Maha Bali, American University in Cairo about motivating academics and supporting students. Scott Doyle, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, Jim Bain, Queen Margaret University Edinburgh, Leen Van Rentergem, KU Leuven, Belgium and Iain Mac Labhrainn, NUIG, Ireland will be sharing their experiences of maintaining and adapting services during these challenging times. We will talk about suitable and accessible learning design with Steven D. Krause, Eastern Michigan University and Mike Wald, University of Southampton. Then on privacy and proctoring, we will be joined by Matthias Baume, Technical University of Munich, Germany and Zac Woolfitt, Inholland University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands.

On November 19, the topic for the day will be Experiences and practice in using AR and VR in Higher Education – Media & Learning Online. Joining us to talk about scaling up AR and VR will be Jeremy Nelson from the XR Initiative, University of Michigan in the US, Neil McDonnell, from the Mobius project in University of Glasgow, UK, Thomas Ginn, Centre for Innovation, Leiden University, The Netherlands and Dominic Pates from City, University of London, UK.

We have a session dedicated to showcasing examples of AR and VR in education which includes inputs from University of Manchester, University of Sarajevo, University of Wolverhampton, National University of Singapore, KU Leuven, University of Derby, Friedrich-Alexander-University, Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), and Immersium Studio in Spain.
