MEDEAnet webinar "Meet the winners of the MEDEA Awards 2014"

This webinar was held on 11 December 2014 16:00-17:00 CET and was attended by 22 participants from 15 countries.
The webinar featured the winning entries in the MEDEA Awards 2014 which were the Digital Prevention Platform and Un autre monde/Eine andere Welt.

The Digital Prevention Platform, winner of the MEDEA Award for Professionally Produced Educational Media, is produced by Saffron Interactive Ltd for the Against Violence and Abuse (AVA) service in the UK which is working to end all forms of Violence Against Women and Girls. It is presented by Toby Harris from Saffron Interactive Ltd & Joanna Sharpen from AVA, they do not only talk about the entry itself and how it was produced but also about how it might be taken up and used in other parts of the world.

Winner of the MEDEA Award for User-Generated Educational Media Award is Un autre monde/Eine andere Welt, a joint submission from Albeck Gymnasium Sulz in Germany and Collège Frédéric Hartmann, Munster in France based on the experiences of a virtual exchange project that operates using simulations taking place in Second Life. It is presented by Stephanie Wössner from Albeck Gymnasium Sulz, Germany who highlights the value of using this type of tool to really engage students when learning a foreign language.

MEDEAnet webinar: MEDEA Awards 2013; Storytelling and Music

MEDEAnet organised a webinar with winners and finalists of the MEDEA Awards 2013 to celebrate the MEDEA Awards 2013 and share good practices on producing and using educational media with people interested in finding out more about innovative practices in media-enhanced education. In this webinar winners and finalists presented their submissions which focus on storytelling and music for learning and teaching.
This webinar was held on Thursday 23 January, 4 pm CET and attended by 24 particpants from 9 countries.

MEDEAnet webinar "Meet the MEDEA Awards 2012 finalists online"

MEDEAnet organised a webinar on 22 November 2012 with the two award winners of the MEDEA Awards 2012: Petros Michailidis (5th Primary school of Alexandroupolis, Greece) who presented the eTwinning project 'And the Oscar goes to ... ', and Catherine Loire (TICE, Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne University, France) who presented the video 'Quand la colère fait tomber les masques'. They described how they have successfully used media to enhance the learning process in their specific circumstances and the 25 participants were given an opportunity to exchange experiences and to ask questions during a moderated video discussion.

This webinar was the first of a webinar series MEDEAnet is organising with the MEDEA Awards 2012 finalists to celebrate the MEDEA Awards 2012 and share good practices on producing and using educational media with teachers and trainers as well as representatives from educational ministries and professional educational media producers interested in finding out more about innovative practices in media-enhanced education and training.
