MEDEAnet webinar “Media-supported language learning”
Language teachers at every level have been quick to spot the potential of media as a learning tool both on and offline. In this webinar two language teachers share their experience with media-supported language learning. You have the chance to get to know how media can be used to enhance language teaching and what you have to consider if you want to integrate media in your courses. The speakers in this webinar were Ina Gray, a lecturer at the Language Centre of the University of Wismar, Germany and Kieran Donaghy, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain.

Film English - language learning resource site
A website created by Kieran Donaghy, that uses short films to promote cineliteracy - the ability to analyse and interpret moving images - in the language classroom. It is a resource bank containing over 90 lesson plans for teachers designed around moving images.
It is aimed at elementary and advanced learners and their teachers. It is very user-friendly, legible and well organised. The lessons are categorized by topic, level and age appropriateness and include homework and follow-up activities. There is a glossary of common film terms and links for teachers and students to related sites. For ease of use the short films and worksheets are embedded into the site. The teachers do not need to download anything, they only need internet access, a computer and a data-projection in the classroom.
Creating video in a virtual world for language educators
Using videos in the real life classroom is a great motivator for language learners.
The Camelot project ( CreAting Machinima Empowers Live Online language Teaching and learning) 2-year EU funded project for language educators to learn how to create videos (machinima) in virtual worlds. (Dec 2013-Nov 2015). it aims to promote the role of video production in language teacher training. It is innovative in that it takes one of the latest technologies – machinima – and uses it to empower 21st century language learning and teaching through the use of a) user-generated video content, b) a task-based language teaching approach based on learner engagement, authenticity and creativity, and c) an online community of practice in which open educational resources (OERs) are available via a repository.

A website full of music clips, videos and songs that can be sung along by everyone, ideal for learning English.
"Songs help make the learning of new words and structures more natural and long lasting. By singing along, students are naturally acquiring correct pronunciation. Many of the songs on this site highlight and exploit different Grammar points, as well as Vocabulary. Students’ awareness of rhyming words is also heightened in many of the activities. The activities on this site can be adapted to any level, and are real. They are very easy to find – if the teacher doesn’t have a copy of the students’ favourite songs, the students will almost certainly have one."
